Spooky Sleepover Sips + Snacks

Y'all tonight is the night for our first ever Spooky Sisterhood Slumber Party, and I am SO excited. To celebrate the occasion, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite snacks and drinks for Halloween.

Let's get settled with a drink first, shall we? These delicious recipes were made JUST for us by the amazing Ava Williams.

To kick it off, we've got a non-alcoholic treat for those of us who want a little spooky drink without the buzz-

And in case you, like me, are dying to try this blackberry syrup, there's a recipe for that!

Want to take it up a notch? How about some midnight margaritas? (yeah I know some of you are Practical Magic fans and you know what I'm talking about!) I honestly can't wait to try these myself, they look so tasty!

Now you CAN have a party without themed foods but why would you? I sadly didn't have time to make such lovely recipe photos like Ava, so instead you're stuck looking at pics taken during 2020 COVID lockdown when I was in full cabin-fever mode and spent the day making themed food to go with my assortment of costumes.

For example...

These "Witch's Broomsticks" are so easy, you don't even need a recipe. Get some pretzel sticks and some string cheese, and literally just make little cuts in the string cheese (leave some uncut space at the top so the strings don't fall off) and stick the pretzel sticks in the top!

Another easy treat- sliders! These were supposed to be burger sliders to go with my Linda Belcher (Bob's Burgers) costume, but we did pulled pork BBQ instead, because that's what we had. Either way they're super easy to throw together, and you can decorate them however you'd like. We made them "monsters" with olive/mozzarella eyes. I'd recommend finding some flavors that go better together than olives + bbq, but again, it was lockdown and we did what we could with what we had on hand. :)

Here's a cute recipe for monster chicken parm sliders:

This was a "mysterious mummies" theme- I was supposed to be X Files' (reboot) Scully and these little guys are always a fan favorite. Preheat the oven to 400. Rinse jalapeno peppers and cut in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds. Meanwhile, brown some sausage (I recommend the pork breakfast sausage for these) then drain and pat dry to get as much grease off as possible. Mix with a block of cream cheese, and take a spoon and fill each jalapeno half with the sausage/cream cheese mixture. Wrap the filled pepper halves with crescent roll dough (one triangle of dough per pepper half) to make it look like a mummy, and bake at 400 for about 12 min! When they're done you can decorate with edible googly eyes ;)

And for dessert-

I didn't have a costume to match, so I threw on my Batman onesie for this one, but these little Frankenstein's Monster Rice Krispie Treats are SO easy. Follow the instructions for basic Rice Krispie Treats and mix in some green food coloring. Once they're cool, decorate with chocolate decorating icing and edible googly eyes.

Here's the recipe for traditional RKT, and you can get creative from there:

So there ya have it! Whether you want to run out to the store and make some of these special treats for tonight, or you want to try some out for Halloween in a couple of weeks, I hope you'll enjoy these recipes as much as I have! If you do try them, please post pics and tag us so we can see, too. :)

Happy Haunting, paranormal pals! <3

(And a huge thank you to our resident bartender Ava for these delish drinks!)
